Get In Touch

Do you fancy helping HTN as a volunteer?
We have three areas where your expertise could help the blind and visually impaired people of Hastings and Rother.

As a volunteer reader...
HTN currently has 12 teams of volunteer readers – reading and recording items for either our news or our magazine programmes. Sometimes for both ! Typically their individual involvement amounts to a half day commitment, roughly once every six weeks. Although all our reading teams are currently fully staffed, please contact Lin Ireland at you’d like to placed on our reserve reader's list.

As a news or magazine editor...
Our HTN editors are responsible for deciding on the length and content of our sound programmes. We particularly welcome anyone with journalistic or broadcasting experience who could spare a few hours each month to act as a team leader within either our news or our magazine output. Enquiries to David Dixon at

As a recordist...
Our Recordists - our desk engineers - supervise the technical side of our productions - and here again we welcome anyone wishing to volunteer their time to cover everything from our recording desk and studio output to USB duplication and archiving. Full training can be given on our own systems and equipment where required. Contact Brian Harvey at further information.

(Because we often have to contact our volunteers at quite short notice a current email address is now an essential requirement for all roles.)

Do you know of any Visually Impaired People who might benefit by receiving this FREE service?
